Houston-Rickerson Family History

**This is the Houston-Rickerson Family History that was shared during the 2019 Family Reunion.  

In the beginning God created man in His own image.  God gave him a helpmate and the first family was established.   We are grateful to God for His ordained guidance and for our own family gathered here today.

In the beginning of our family, there was a man named Hannibal Houston.  God gave Hannibal, a helpmate named Bessie Mae Williams.  The two became one United in Holy Matrimony and then our family was established.  We are truly grateful to God for establishing our family for such a time as this.

After, the unexpected death of Hannibal Houston.  God saw fit to grow our family with the addition of the beloved Rickerson three.  The lasting legacy of our family is one of love, prayer and togetherness.  We are grateful to God for a long, strong and continuous blood line evidenced by the youngest members of our family present today. 

Our family history goes back a long way, but our starting point is right here right now at this reunion.  Our first family reunion at the “Back in the Day” Park in Pulm Branch on August 31st and September 1st at Bethany Baptist Church of Clarks Hill, 29821. We are grateful to God for all of the members of our family.

We look to the future - and, to the generations following us and pray that God will continue to Bless us this generation and every generation to come.  We honor the patriarch of our family Albert Houston and encourage you all to seek his advice and guidance.  He is a man of few words and a quiet soul and a great role model for all of us here today and when he speaks we would do well to listen carefully and closely.
